What the Proposal Says About Weather

The 2025 NPRM, proposed § 108.170(a) and (h), ties preflight weather assessment to aircraft limits. It also calls for wind and forecast weather to be considered when assessing available power or fuel.

The proposed § 108.145 addresses weather conditions and frost, ice or snow on the aircraft before takeoff, with reference to manufacturer instructions. This proposal summary is not a current Part 107 weather minimum.

Proposed Part 146 Data Services

The same NPRM, section XIII, proposes a framework for automated data service providers. It covers certification and service authorizations. This does not establish VectorWX as an approved provider.

What Remains to Be Checked

A publication notice can reopen comments or correct text. Check the document type, final provisions, effective date and transition terms. The monitor reports publications; an editor must review changes before this guide describes final requirements.

Start with the current Part 107 guide and the weather checklist for your existing planning workflow.

Planning aid only. Check conditions at the flight site and use an official briefing. A weather page does not grant flight or airspace approval.
